Our Philosophy

Our aim is to promote an understanding of the contribution that diversity and change make towards heritage and community. We will preserve and add to the heritage of the upper Calder valley by recording oral histories and collecting archive material.

By involving others as participants, spectators or through training we will create opportunities that can enhance individual lives and community awareness.

Although our collection will be an archive for now, helping residents and visitors enjoy with interest the personal life stories of older residents, we are also talking to younger people about their lives and views, which will create an archive for future generations.
