Wild Rose Heritage and Arts Gallery

The Gallery is a collection of photographs and memorabilia given to us by people from the area. Many are of general interest about the area, while some are concerned with family and personal experience. Some reflect the changing social history of the upper Calder valley.
Many of the pictures are presented in groups as they were given to us. Some gallery sections will therefore be relevant to individuals or family histories while still representing change over time. We have some documents that are quite unique, such as envelopes from WWI letters to the family running the White Swan Hotel with caricatures of family members and regulars, a list of all the fires from 1903 to 1936 and the available hydrants and Demonstration (Gala) programmes from the 1930’s and 40’s.
There will be a gradual increase of images put in the Gallery as we gather new material. Regular updates in our news section will bring this to your attention.
